Only driving short distances

I recognize problems with chemo brain. I'm extra careful because I don't have someone watching this for me. I'm occasionally missing words, forgetting names, etc. So I'm only driving short distances, and only to places I've been. -- At least until I'm done with the chemo. Even my knitting is effected.

This is my choice, not forced by an M.D. I just want to stay safe and have others safe as well.

Uncertainty... this will be an interesting day.

NOTE: this is mostly a whine. Sorry. Feel free to skip it. I have no idea how today is going to go. I need to get to Moffitt for an appointment with Dr. Chon. I still can't drive. I posted a request for help on Facebook, an acquaintance responded. I think she'll be driving me there, I'll have the appointment, and my roommate will pick me up after work. The last message was she was looking at where I live to see if it is hard to find. OR she won't be able to do it. I've got a neighbor who can drive me, he'll stay with me for the appointment, then drive back. Although, I'm seeing the oncologist/surgeon because I've popped some stitches. That shouldn't happened 4 weeks after surgery. I think there is infection behind the intact stitches. So they'll be looking at it, cleaning it out, resuturing it, and.... maybe keeping me-- depending on --- well, that's my fear. I need to admit that I've still been using the pain med...

Schroedinger's Cat and my liver tumor

The short version of Schroedinger's cat experiment (note: only hypothetical cats were theoretically harmed with this experiment) Schrödinger's cat: a cat, a flask of poison, and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal monitor detects radioactivity (i.e. a single atom decaying), the flask is shattered, releasing the poison that kills the cat. The Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics implies that after a while, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Yet, when one looks in the box, one sees the cat either alive or dead, not both alive and dead. Some background about me. In January, 2006 my sister died, and I was helping my father discard/donate/sort her belongings when he died in May, 2006. Both were packrats. I proceeded to give away to basically anyone who would take, their belongings. Dad was a generous man.... he would have enjoyed the (uninstalled) dishwasher going to his neighbor with 5 kids. Or the Tonka toys being given to each of the kids that helped. At one point I had a list: tools, toolboxes, cars, etc. My father's two bedroom/ one bath house packed to the brim, and my sister's one bed/one bath --with full basement house packed with romance novels and scrapbooking supplies. At my father's the upstairs was a pleasant surprise, a neighbor needed some spare cash, and Dad hired her to organize/ cleanout the second bedroom. Another shock was the freezer in the basement.
