Two weeks post surgery.... hop, hop, hop

It's been an interesting two weeks.

I'm getting better at crutches. Also, I have learned to use a wheelchair. There's a scooter on my front porch, but I haven't taken a walk with it yet.

Lots of knitting getting done.

Today I had a Cardiac CT to measure Left Ventricle Ejection Fraction. Tomorrow, I get x-rayed and can scratch the skin under the air cast. Two weeks post surgery, we'll see how it is healing. Then the ankle gets re-wrapped.

Then waiting for another two weeks.

Uncertainty... this will be an interesting day.

NOTE: this is mostly a whine. Sorry. Feel free to skip it. I have no idea how today is going to go. I need to get to Moffitt for an appointment with Dr. Chon. I still can't drive. I posted a request for help on Facebook, an acquaintance responded. I think she'll be driving me there, I'll have the appointment, and my roommate will pick me up after work. The last message was she was looking at where I live to see if it is hard to find. OR she won't be able to do it. I've got a neighbor who can drive me, he'll stay with me for the appointment, then drive back. Although, I'm seeing the oncologist/surgeon because I've popped some stitches. That shouldn't happened 4 weeks after surgery. I think there is infection behind the intact stitches. So they'll be looking at it, cleaning it out, resuturing it, and.... maybe keeping me-- depending on --- well, that's my fear. I need to admit that I've still been using the pain med...

The Chemo Diet

This diet is a slice of absurdity.  First my previous diet goals were eating healthy or losing weight.  Forget all of that.  Here are the points of my current diet (and why I eat at home most of the time.) No restaurant vegs/fruits.  Don't know how well it has been washed.  At home I am to wash the bagged pre-washed salads.  Wash fruits.  That makes sense with apples and other hard fruits where I normally eat the skin.  But washing a banana seems weird. (until you realize that you are handling the outside, then touching the inside with your hands. ) Well done.  Steak. Eggs. Meat.  Cook everything well.  For a medium rare lover, this is just sad. No buffets.  People, lots of sick people. Avoid crowds.  Okay, this is not restaurant suggestion, but it is. Wear a mask.  I own some, haven't worn one in public.  yet.  Add calories to your food.  Whipped cream on Jello.  Creamer in coffee....
